The CSOS, established in terms of the Community Scheme Ombud Service Act, 2011 [Act 9 of 2011) is envisaged to regulate the conduct of parties within community schemes, ensuring their good governance. They will provide an alternative, impartial and transparent service for the resolution of unresolved disputes in community schemes.

COMMUNITY SCHEMES OMBUD SERVICE (CSOS)
Why this could mean a large levy increase onyour sectional title property?

The cost to owners of properties in community schemes could be significant. The proposed fee, based on the municipal value of each property, estimated at between R 120.00 to R 816.00 per unit annually where a Body Corporate or Home Owner's Association is present.

This could easily cost sectional title owners 10 - 30% more in their levies.

NOT a great way to encourage investment.
